1. Introduction
===============

This, in case you haven't guessed, is a showcase for my up and coming level, Unforgiven: Mission One. As the level began to progress from reasonable to monstrous proportions I realised that it wasn't likely to be completed in the near future. Therefore, I thought it would be a good idea to whet everyone's appetite (and give myself a break from finding new ways to crash DromEd) and make a trailer. What I found was that with the right tools and a bit of patience it's surprisingly easy to make something that's halfway decent.

2. Story
========

Watch the movie, that's the whole idea. Oh all right then, here's an alternative monologue.

It seems I can't even walk the streets these days without being watched like a hawk. Both the Keepers and the Hammers had been watching me so closely it didn't come as that much of a surprise when the Hammers 'escorted' me to the local temple. Just as I was about to pick the purse of a fat nobleman, as well. Apparently the Priest needed a word, presumably about my heretical lifestyle and my many other evil ways. As I found out, however, that wasn't the case.
  The Hammers aren't all as fanatical as you'd think, in fact some of them are just as devious as the best, or worst, of us sinners. Father Asmodel was one of them, and he had a special treat in store for me.
  Asmodel's Temple had been charged with guarding one of their old relics, an ancient sword supposedly made when the Hammers were initially founded. He wanted me to get it back without causing a fuss, presumably so his superiors wouldn't find out it had gone missing in the first place.
  From the information Asmodel gave me, which wasn't much, the sword is rumoured to be in the possession of a Lord Brendly, a nobleman and merchant who no doubt intends to sell it on to one of his less reputable associates as soon as possible. According to the servants the sword is most likely kept in a vault underneath the building itself though I'd have to find the keys to get in.
  At first I thought it was a setup, but he did offer to pay me 20,000 on return of the sword, and Hammers don't part with that kind of money without wanting something pretty badly.

3. Programs Used
================

Lots and lots and lots, well, a few...

Extreme3D (logo rendering)
MGI Videowave+ (initial compilation and text flow)
Adobe Photoshop (image editing/manipulation)
DromEd (All scenes, Cathedral specially built, rest from the actual level itself)
CuBase VST24 (I think, used for the music and speech)
Adobe Premiere (Used for final compilation and editing)

4. Credits
==========

Firstly I'd like to thank me for being so intelligent, creative, sexy and downright pompous. I'd also like to thank Dean Clarke from CherryTree Studios (cherrytree_studios@yahoo.com) who managed to get the groovy music and all the tricky audio stuff done, thanks Dean. Thanks also to Trimfect for making the flames (see his website) and to all the guys and gals (gal?) on the TTLG Thief Editors Forum for all their help. Thanks also to Digital Nightfall for actually hosting this thing.

5. Misc.
========

The level should be finished in around 3-4 weeks, providing there are no disasters. For more info go to http://members.tripod.co.uk/tazworld66/membersprojects.htm or contact yours truly at James_Kay@yahoo.com. Any comments/questions are welcome provided they inflate my already bloated ego (joking). For those interested the final video uses an 8-bit, 22kHz mono audio track with the video being set at a resolution of 320x240, 10 fps, and uses Indeo compression. Hope it tickles your taste buds.
