What Contest? - These are the results of the third small FM contest held in the summer of 2002
There were 16 (again) missions entered and the rules restricted the building area to a tiny 64,000 cubic dromed units. Common mission sizes were 40cubed and 80x40x20. Authors had about two months to build thier missions.
Voting was finished August 12, 2002.
Prizes - A set of FM CD's to Bukary for Old Comrades, Old Debts! The rest of you get the intrinsic reward of that warm fuzzy feeling of releasing an FM :-)
The Table - Here are a few notes about the results table:
- Your first picks were awarded two points, and your runners up were given one point.
- I feel that the category "Most Enjoyable Gameplay, Fun" is the most important one, so for the final totals that category is doubled. I feel this creates a better reflection for the "Best Overall" rankings, as some missions could be really good in general but didn't quite stand out in any particular category.
- FYI, I received 38 e-mails with votes, just two more than last contest.
- Finally, I want to say again that ALL these missions were enjoyable and good creations. Kudos to all the authors! And just because some of them didn't seem to rank very well compared to the others certainly doesn't mean you shouldn't play those missions too, because they're all worth downloading and playing :-) And you authors who made the "bad" missions, don't think that! They are worthy to be played, and we look forward to your future works as well :-)
